REMIND ME...

We forget a lot, don't we?
Picture this.

You are in campus. It's one day to exams and you still don't have your exam card. Reason?  Your school fee has not been cleared. Your parents have tried all they can to raise the money and now they have run out of options.
Afraid, you go to whoever is in charge and explain your situation. To your surprise, you are allowed to sit for exams despite not having cleared your school fees.

Or maybe there was a time you woke up with no will to live yet so much to do. You didn't think you could even manage to get out of bed but somehow you made it through the day. And it wasn't one of those situations where you had to drag yourself through everything -you did everything excellently.
Perhaps on a certain day you were feeling so worthless and someone said or did something that reminded you how precious you are.
Only God can make such things happen. But for some reason whenever things seem to be going downhill we are masters of forgetfulness.
We forget how God got us through every single moment and fret over everything and anything. We question Him and try to justify ourselves. We try to make Him see how  "good " people like us surely do not deserve to go through some situations. Sometimes we even try to fix the situations using our own means.
We forget that He got us through fire and floods. That His strength is made perfect in our weaknesses. That no matter how bad it gets He promised to never leave and He never breaks a promise.
How I pray that God would teach us to fully trust in Him. That whenever we feel like there is no more light He will remind us just how faithful He has always been.

Nikumbushe wema wako nisije laumu

(Remind me of Your goodness that I may not lay blame)

Nikumbushe Ukuu wako wakati wa magumu

(Remind me of your greatness in times of difficulty)

Nikumbushe shuhuda zako ili nikusifu

(Remind me of your works that I may praise you)

Niimbe wimbo wa sifa katikati ya machozi.

(That I may sing a song of praise in the midst of tears)
