I will start by what Paul encouraged one of the churches he wrote to. He told them,"Peace to all of you that are in christ."
Christ told his disciples as He ascended up to the Father that He will be with them always until the end of age. It was never easy for them back then. There were very few people who understood who Jesus was and why He came to the earth. Even fewer people were willing to put their lives on hold for the gospel of peace. One thing I am sure is that the followers of Christ held on to the words that He spoke to them while He was with them.
This age may be a little different.We have many Christians all around the world but one thing in common is the devil who is an accuser of brethren. He will try all that He can to make us doubt the promises of God in our lives. The common question that we ask is, "If God is for me, why is this and that happening to me?" We may not understand the circumstances we are in but we can be sure that the Love of the Father never fails and if it never fails then nothing can happen to us contrary to what His will is for us.
It is not easy. It is not common to encourage oneself at such times. It is not even easy to let in someone elses words that are meant to make you feel better but by the conviction of the Holy Spirit in us we can rise above everything that is meant to pull us down.
Our song today reminds me over and over to hold on because I have faith that builds a hope in me and an assurance of the Love of God.
