I CAN'T SAVE MYSELF

Many people use this phrase this days,"I'm a work in progress". Sometimes we just say it to get out of a mistake without much argument or just to console ourselves when we feel as if we have fallen short of someone's or our own expectations. This is not a wrong phrase to use but the question is, on whose hands is your molding taking place?

I have been asked to change the way I do this and that or try and be this or that and all that has ever done is pull me back or slow me down. The pressure makes you want to hide. The strength to be better is overwhelming especially you are not feeling up to the standards being laid down for you. We always want people to be better. We always want them to understand or just live up to our expectations. Here is another question, are you allowing them to be shaped in God's will or are you just making them move in the direction you think is right?
We fall and we always will at some point in our lives. We will always have people disappointing us or over expecting things from us. However, there is a love that shapes us in righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

The song writer of these song describes it so plainly that I always feel like I am the one telling God these words. It is not easy to let go of the wheel and let God drive. Sometimes we want to be a backseat driver in our own lives and in the lives of those we are connected to. It is not wrong to have a concern and address it but even so it is not our job to make us perfect. We have to let God direct, drive and dictate the speed. For He who started the good work in our lives is faithful to bring it into completion.

We all care. Most of us like to say we do not really care what anyone thinks about us but truth is that deep down we really do. It's just that some of us have slowly been sucked into approval addiction while some have gradually realized that it really shouldn't matter that much so we try not to let others' opinions sway us. Sometimes things go dark. So dark that life ceases to make sense... Sometimes things go wrong and just when we think they can't get any worse they actually do... Sometimes we get weak...or as we like to say, life happens. This song, I believe, is for those times when life happens. Because those are the times we are prone to forget the truth we very much proclaim to know. We've heard it said countless times that when it comes to talking to God, there's no sort of perfect way to it. What matters most is the state of our hearts.  A broken and contrite heart- these, He will not despise. A good number of people say music gets them through pretty much everything. The truth is that music is powerful. However there have been times in my life when nothing made sense. When I say nothing I mean even the songs that would normally be very helpful were simply just nicely arranged words with a melody.
