ALL OF MY LIFE
This is my prayer in the desert
When all that's within me feels dry
This is my prayer in my hunger and need
My God is the God who provides
This is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved
Of more worth than gold
So refine me Lord through the flame
Maybe this is where we are shaped. Maybe in that distress is where there's the ignition of the function of our faith. Maybe it is in the labour that the unending love of a mother is shaped and maybe in the struggle to hold on is where the worth of it is seen. When an athlete is setting out for a race, he or she must exercise. They must do the push ups, the sit ups... stretches and flexes. Tightening muscles and loosening tensions all need a lot of folding and unfolding of the joints. It is not easy but the athlete knows it is worth the strain. See the Israelites called God Adonai, because He was their strength when they were weak. They called Him Nissi because He was the reason for their win and so their flag. They called Him Immanuel because He never left them. They called Him El Shadai because He provided more than enough.
A life without meaning is so void so nothing will try to make it strain for even if it is squeezed it is too empty to bring out any juice. On the other hand, a life full of worth is worth more than gold so it has to be refined to bring out its expensive quality. Knowing God is also expensive. Living for a good cause means every detail of ones life is important for excellence is in the details. It is in that day when you wake up with no coin so no means to get food but only trust in the Father who provides. It is in when you are walking into a battle with no amour but only a sling and a stone plus praise and the word of your testimony. It is in when the doctors say that there's nothing more they can do medically that it only takes your faith to take the cancer out of your system. Then you will know that nothing really just happens and all your life is all His. So when the abundance come you will say...
When favour and providence flow
I know I'm filled to be emptied again
The seed I received I will sow
