THE WAITING

If the excitement we have when God makes a promise would be consistent through the time taken for the promise to substantiate then we would have amazing results and God's children would be all smiles all the time. This however is not the case. The question we often ask is why does it have to take this long? I mean... He is God... He just says the word and it goes. But the question we should be asking is this, "I'm I ready?"

What will it look like?
What will it be like?
When my life turns out like you've planned
When will I get there?
Seems like I'm know where
My dreams are like dust in my head...
The reason why we get so worked up trying to make a promise come to pass before it is its time I believe its because we forget to remember that the one who gives the seed is the only one who can make it grow. Paul said in the bible that for him he came to plant and another would water the seed but it is God who makes it grow. See the seed that Paul was planting was given by God just like each promise or word spoken into our lives and it is God who makes everything beautiful at its time.

God is the best parent ever. If the earthly, not perfect parent can be able to tell that a five year old is too young to drive a car, what about the perfect God who knows us more than we know ourselves. He knows when we are ready to handle the promise and when we are not yet in a position to do so. In our minds we might be thinking, "I want it right now" or "It would be the perfect time now Lord to bring that promised husband or wife my way" but God may be looking down and saying "My child there is somewhere I want to get you before you get that leadership position" or "There is some grounding I need to do on you lest the wealth gets into your head."

It is not wrong to anticipate, but we should be anticipating with patience, peace and joy knowing that Love will not let go. If it is not here yet then it is better than what I am imagining and I am still being shaped to be in a position to handle it and the responsibilities that come with it.
This is the waiting, I anxiously wait
As I hold on to Love that will never let go
And in this time when my patience is tested
Won't you remind me that I am not alone
Here in the waiting
