TOO HARD NOT TO

Many beautiful songs are written from an experience. This one is one of them and what I love about it is the way it is able to relate with the common struggle we go through daily. Christ says we should forgive and forget but this days people say it is okay to forgive but too hard to forget. This questions a lot about how willing we are to be free because forgiveness is one big freedom that we tend to overlook.

Trying to face something that seems way too hard
Many times as verse one of the song outlines we feel like it should never had happened. At times we feel if we forgave they would get used to it and never change. So we too end up stuck at that point and build insecurities as walls around us. We think we are doing ourselves a favor where else we really are caging ourselves willingly with eyes wide open.
Some things so senseless and some things so selfish
Try to come and tear your world apart
Someone so loving and someone so selfless
Will help you when you're ready to restart
It is not easy to let go but Christ is the best example for us. While He was at the cross He still prayed for those who hurt Him. You will say you are not Christ. The biggest excuse used by Christians to avoid responsibilities. You may not be Him but His Spirit dwells in you.

It's too hard to hold on to all of the pain
And it's too hard to relive it over and over again
It's too hard when the memories have control over you

It's too hard not to
In pursuit of peace, it will be too hard to hold on to that grudge. In obedience to Christ it will be too hard not to be as He was here on earth and even greater as He promised.

We all care. Most of us like to say we do not really care what anyone thinks about us but truth is that deep down we really do. It's just that some of us have slowly been sucked into approval addiction while some have gradually realized that it really shouldn't matter that much so we try not to let others' opinions sway us. REMEMBER

Sometimes things go dark. So dark that life ceases to make sense... Sometimes things go wrong and just when we think they can't get any worse they actually do... Sometimes we get weak...or as we like to say, life happens. This song, I believe, is for those times when life happens. Because those are the times we are prone to forget the truth we very much proclaim to know. Those  are the times we question our faith in God, we question His love for us, we question the very Words we so clearly heard Him speak to us. We've heard it said countless times that when it comes to talking to God, there's no sort of perfect way to it. What matters most is the state of our hearts.  A broken and contrite heart- these, He will not despise. A good number of people say music gets them through pretty much everything. The truth is that music is powerful. However there have been times in my life when nothing made sense. When I say nothing I mean even the songs that would normally be very helpful were simply just nicely arranged words with a melody.
