YOU ARE GOD


You are not like those with big names, with the most wealth- You are God
You are not like the rulers of the world, those with fame and power- You are God
You were there long before the beautiful ones we are told are not yet born and all that are already born- You are God

Nothing gives me assurance like knowing fully well that the God I serve is not a man. I cannot liken Him to anyone I have encountered in my lifetime. Be it the kindest or the scariest of them all.

God is not a man that He should lie
Nor a son of man that he should repent
Has he said, and will He not do?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it  good?

-Numbers 23:19

My heart explodes with praise for our God. He is God alone, unlike anything or anyone. He alone is unfailing, He alone is endlessly merciful, He alone is always kind. He sees who we truly are on the inside and does not love us less.
Have you been so broken by the world that you do not think you can trust again? Trust God. He is not a man. He has no hidden agenda. He loves you with a love so pure. Run into His open arms

Sometimes things go dark. So dark that life ceases to make sense... Sometimes things go wrong and just when we think they can't get any worse they actually do... Sometimes we get weak...or as we like to say, life happens. This song, I believe, is for those times when life happens. We've heard it said countless times that when it comes to talking to God, there's no sort of perfect way to it. What matters most is the state of our hearts.  A broken and contrite heart- these, He will not despise. A good number of people say music gets them through pretty much everything. The truth is that music is powerful. However there have been times in my life when nothing made sense. When I say nothing I mean even the songs that would normally be very helpful were simply just nicely arranged words with a melody.
