IN OCEANS DEEP

You call me out upon the waters

The great unknown where feet may fail

In oceans deep my faith with stand.

I think this lyrics describe my year, first as a person and second as the Preach Through My Lyrics team. When the year began, the message for this season was to stand still and see the
salvation of the Lord. At the time, it did not occur to me what I was to stand against or for so as to see the salvation of the Lord. I think then all that was in my mind was seeing the salvation of the Lord. The standing part has come more like a surprise. Not that I never expect to face a challenge but the challenge wasn't the thing I first expected, I just expected the salvation part of the promise more.
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever you would call me
Take me deeper than my faith could ever wonder
And my faith will be made stronger,
In the presence of my savior
Understand that this is a dangerous prayer. Hehehe. The ones you may just be making unconsciously. Maybe because you love the sound of it or the lyrics just overwhelms you. It is a surrender prayer and the spirit loves it but I understand the flesh is never ready for such a commitment and this is where we were to stand. See, you get excited when you walk upon the waters and you keep going deeper in the oceans but remember the more the steps, the more the temptation to
1. Put back your trust on self
2. Ask how and so end up thinking that it may not be real (doubt like Peter)
3. See a wave of mighty waters and cause a panic within you
However, though it was not easy to remain focused, though the wind blowing us back to the shores was great and the sound of water beating upon each other was loud and heavy;

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand, will be my guide

Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now.

These were the words that sustained life during the season. The greatest leasons were to always remember to call upon the name of Jehovah, to keep my eyes above the waves and when the ocean rose, my soul sought to rest upon Love's embrace for I am His and He is mine.
