SOLDIER ON


Image result for images of an army orchestraIts 21 days into the year and I know most of us are either still in the new year mood or we are already judging the year by how the last three weeks have been. Well we are all allowed to have different feelings towards different circumstances but this song encouraged me
today and I thought I should share...

Some of us were so positive that this must be the year that my dreams come true or I should at least take a leap towards my ambitions and get myself somewhere. Unfortunately, how the last fortnight has been is nothing like you had hoped it would be. You are already thinking of loosening up your enthusiasm and just 'make a more realistic goal'. It is too early to start thinking that it will not be any better. It is also not too late to set some targets for the year. What I know is as much as we have new years, new days and new seasons, they all have a link somewhere. Together they show how you lived, how good you made decisions and how much you have learned from all the ups and downs of different situations.
I am personally more of putting my gears on to get a good ride through the year than just celebrating the fact that I got here. I do not mean that is is just another year, what I say is a quote I just learnt recently, "Well done is better that well said." So I will keep moving. Thanking God for every day and every progress. The pains will teach me a few lessons and make me appreciate things that I would have otherwise overlooked. The achievements will encourage me to keep going and scale higher. Last year had its promises of which others came to pass while others did not. It does not mean that the year was all bad and useless but it opened my eyes to greater possibilities.
This is the year that The Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it. Let's soldier on.

We all care. Most of us like to say we do not really care what anyone thinks about us but truth is that deep down we really do. It's just that some of us have slowly been sucked into approval addiction while some have gradually realized that it really shouldn't matter that much so we try not to let others' opinions sway us. REMEMBER

Sometimes things go dark. So dark that life ceases to make sense... Sometimes things go wrong and just when we think they can't get any worse they actually do... Sometimes we get weak...or as we like to say, life happens. This song, I believe, is for those times when life happens. Because those are the times we are prone to forget the truth we very much proclaim to know. Those  are the times we question our faith in God, we question His love for us, we question the very Words we so clearly heard Him speak to us. We've heard it said countless times that when it comes to talking to God, there's no sort of perfect way to it. What matters most is the state of our hearts.  A broken and contrite heart- these, He will not despise. A good number of people say music gets them through pretty much everything. The truth is that music is powerful. However there have been times in my life when nothing made sense. When I say nothing I mean even the songs that would normally be very helpful were simply just nicely arranged words with a melody.
