GODFIDENCE
This week we focus on a poem that is featured in our latest issue of the Preach Through My Lyrics magazine whose theme is "The God Factor". In case you don't have a copy yet, download it here⇒bit.ly/July2018Edition absolutely free of charge.
This piece is about a person that is constantly misunderstood because people keep on seeing him from their (human) point of view hence the use of oxymoron. Despite all these, he tries to explain
himself saying that only God will vindicate him through ‘GODFIDENCE’ which is simply Confidence derived from God. (Philippians 4:13)

GODFIDENCE
Many times I’ve been
judged, but to them I turned blind
I’m the most positive –
negative you’ll ever find
You see; I’m cold fire,
I’m an honest liar you see;
I’m the accepted
outcast, I’m innocently guilty you see;
I’m industriously lazy,
they said
Well that’s because
they barely know me
Came to a point that I
became a stranger to even my homies
But I eventually became
stronger than they saw me
So I decided to
strangle those things that don’t grow me
How could I ever
deserve of His grace and mercy, I mean the low me
I’ve gone through
struggles and hustles
I’ve gone through
wrangles and wrestled without muscles
And looking back, I
feel like I’ve gone through a whole jungle
And it’s amazing how I
was rescued from where I was entangled
That’s why I speak of
His greatness, I don’t mumble
Kwake sisi
hatubahatishi, we don’t gamble
Atakupa foundation
dhabiti, you won’t stumble
Njia zake ni sahihi,
you’ll never fumble
So weka pride chini,
brother, sister always be humble
So who exactly am I
talking about?
I’m talking about
Jesus, my Saviour
He’s the only one who
forgot and forgave my past behaviour
And if not for Him, I
could have been in the grave yard
So come to Him, He’ll
make your burdens less heavier
That’s why I preach His
gospel from here to as far as Moldovia
So when they asked me,
‘young man, where’s your courage and confidence?’
‘I’ve got
none’, I said, ‘I can’t even stand in front of that audience with all that
ambience but it’s because of God’s guidance that gave me resilience because I
confide in Him, that’s God plus confidence so it’s not a coincidence when I say
all I know is GODFIDENCE’
