Hello Role Player...

The best way to give up choice is thinking you don't have it. The best way to give up your power is thinking you don't have it.

Sadly,
most of us take on roles that end up controlling our lives and we keep complaining that life is hard, painful and any other negative term we use often. We subscribe to a script whose writer is not ourselves or better so, God, and so we hate every dance on life's floor. To make it worse, we avoid dealing with this by settling on the words, 'This is how life is...'
But is this really how life was meant to be lived...

Verse 1

Get it right every day
Do it perfectly and they will love me
They will want me back
If I make no mistakes
A performer that's perfect for the crowd
You'll be proud of me, right?

Verse 2

Cue the lights center stage
It's the moment they will see me
They will want me back
Every word that I say
Every note must be just right for the crowd
You'll be proud of me, right?

Someone will say, but 'I have to... Else...' which I understand. However, this is a road that needs a great amount of courage. Letting go of cumulative beliefs and following a path selected by few. And when it comes to God...

"You don't need a stage to love me
No matter the place Your heart will be true
And when I'm afraid that I am not good enough
And I don't know what to do
Truth is...
I don't have to perform for You"

I now believe that this is the reason enough to let go of every other role on a platform we feel stuck on.

But how do I tell I am role-playing?
One, you would not choose your life if you felt free. Two, you'd rather be or do something else at any given part of your day.

Freedom is not something we wait for, the right freedom is something we already are. We just take too long to realize it.
The next time you catch yourself role-playing ask yourself these three questions:

  • Whose script I'm I following?
  • Is it entirely true?
  • What would I rather be doing or who would I rather be?

    That's deep.

    Thanks for this Vicky.
