Closer Than You Know

I've always had a complicated relationship with God. One minute is like I'm all joyful, full of faith, and ready to tackle this world with everything I have. The next it's like He is so far, I can't seem to reach Him and its like I have to beg him to come to me.
Come and listen coz I have a lot to say and I'm not getting it at the moment. They(whoever they are, 😅) call this a wavering faith.

Well, I won't lie to you, it's not easy to have a steady faith. Not everything will make sense, at least not all the time. I guess this is why this song spoke to the core of my being. Instead of us asking the Lord not to turn His face from us, it is the other way round. Listen to what He says...
I tempered the storm
Though your faith was small
I prayed while you slept
And the night waged war
We stood in the fire
And we walked on the sea
And we drank of the wine
That was made of me

Don't turn your eyes from me
For my love won't be undone
Don't hide your face from me
For my light has surely come
Surely come surely come

What more peace and love could we ask for once we hear the breath of life speak such assuring words. The problem is that we walk around feeling so far from Love. So far that when adversity hits or we feel like we are missing the point, it looks like the one who made us, the one who breathed the breath of life in us is somewhere far.
And this is why the climax is my favorite part of this song. Once you understand that God never leaves, such a response will always come from a heart that has fully received the magnitude of this Love.
Lord, I hear you I know you are there
Closer now than my skin and bones could bare
Breathing deep within me
You are always with me

I can see you where my eyes can't stare
Brighter now than the sun could ever dare
Breathing all around me
God I know that you are here

Yes, He is breathing in and all around you. Didn't He say that He will never leave you nor forsake you? Why then do we forget? I'll tell you why... Because we forget that even the breath we breathe is not only in Him but also actually Him. Once that sinks in, then the separation mindset will start fading away.
We are never forsaken. Never.

A special bonus today for those looking for songs that speak of the love of the father, that which never wavers. Here are songs I recommend that you add to your playlist;
Everlasting Love by Cece Winans
Situation by Jonathan McReynolds
The God Who Stays by Mathew West
Maybe we will blog on them some day😃.
