BUILD US BACK
Most of us have stories that go something like, “I used to
be….then I don’t know what happened but now it’s all gone.”
Maybe what you used to be was happy, bold, optimistic,
successful (depending on what success means to you), friendly or whatever it is
that made life one or two or countless levels more beautiful than it is now.
We all have a past. This has been said countless times,
especially in reference to a not so glamorous past but the truth is for some it
was a beautiful one. One that we spend every sunrise wishing for. One that we
would probably give just about anything to have back. We look at who we are
right now and wonder what went wrong. We repent for sins we do not know that
may have brought us to this point.
Inasmuch as we understand that life has seasons, whenever
winter surfaces we tend to whine. We go through it feeling like it’s the end of
our lives. It’s okay to feel hurt. However, in the midst of our turmoil we
ought to remember that there is hope.
When
the thief takes, when our hopes cave
You
build us back, You build us back
When
the earth shakes, when the world breaks
You
build us back, You build us back
We have a God who is able to restore all that we have lost
and so much more on top of that. When things fall apart let us hold on to this
hope- that no matter how long it takes and how much it hurts, He will restore.
Joy will come in the morning.
“The thief does not
come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may
have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
-John 10:10(NKJV)
